SANYO Internet Radio: No PCs Required

(Business News & Technology News, 5 Dec 2008)

More than a half-century after introducing one of the world's first transistor radios, SANYO is making the exciting world of free internet radio easily accessible without a computer. Designed with the contemporary look and familiar functionality of a clock radio, and the sound quality of much more expensive audio systems, the SANYO Internet Radio R227 uses either a wireless (Wi-Fi) or Ethernet internet connection and can play thousands of crystal-clear internet radio stations and podcasts, all without a subscription fee.

Ideal for home or office, the SANYO Internet Radio features easy network key entry when used on secured wireless networks. Internet radio stations and podcasts can be easily located by Country or Genre (MP3, WMA, AAC, AIFF, RM and WAV formats supported) with eight Internet station presets. The device also boasts an FM stereo digital tuner with eight station presets.

The R227 is easily portable throughout the household, and can be enjoyed in the kitchen, bedroom, living room or garage—virtually anywhere there's a Wi-Fi or Ethernet connection. As convenient as a traditional radio, a simple "On/Off" button provides instantaneous access to thousands of internet radio stations. Loaded with functionality, including wake-to-internet or FM radio, the R227 boasts excellent stereo audio with dual speakers.
