Industry-first Solid Tantalum Chip Capacitor Rated at 63V
( 1 Sep 2008 )
Vishay Intertechnology Inc. has released the T97, said to be the industry's first solid tantalum chip capacitor, which has a 63V rating and is designed for derating requirements in +28V power supply designs. The T97, available in F case size, has a capacitance of 22µF and features a dual anode construction to ensure low ESR. The T97 series is designed for safety-critical applications such as those found in the military and aerospace industries, including DC/DC converters and power distribution in weapons and radar systems, avionics, and space-based electronics. The devices offer designers a wide array of ratings not found in available MIL specifications.
These conformal-coated capacitors with wrap-around terminations offer high-reliability screening options including Weibull grading, and surge current testing options in accordance with MIL-PRF-55365 in five case sizes.
