Ultra-compact SAW Duplexers and Filters Designed for W-CDMA

( 1 Sep 2008 )

Using a hermetic seal structure, Fujitsu Media Devices has developed what is claimed to be the world's smallest SAW duplexers (for bands I, II, IV, V and VIII) for W-CDMA mobile phones and SAW filters for GSM (850, 900, 1800 and 1900) technology. The SAW duplexers are available in dimensions of 2x1.6x0.5mm and 2.5x2x0.6mm. Single SAW filters (for GSM 850 and 900) measure 1.1x0.9x 0.5mm, and dual filters (for GSM 850 and 900, or 1800 and 1900) measure 1.5x1.1x 0.5mm.

The SAW duplexers use a 50¦¸unbalanced interface for the antenna and transmitter pins, and a 100¦¸balanced interface for the receiver pins. The SAW filter¡¯s input interface is 50¦¸(unbalanced) and the output interface is 150¦¸ (balanced).
