DVB-H and FM Antennas Operate within 474MHz to 870MHz
( 1 Sep 2008 )
Ethertronics Inc.'s two new internal DVB-H and FM antennas, part of its Tavvel line of actively tuned embedded antennas, power an array of advanced industrial designs, mobile handsets and video products. Designed to operate on the entire DVB-H range of frequencies from 474MHz to 870MHz, the DVB-H antennas deliver average efficiency of 40 percent with current consumption of less than 0.1mA.
The antenna element can be implemented in a variety of device form factors and requires a simple DC control voltage to tune the antenna to a specific frequency within the DVB-H band. The Tavvel embedded active FM antenna is ideal for integration into handheld devices, cellular phones, PDAs, and laptops. The 1cm3 tunable antenna operates at the frequency range of 87.5MHz to 108MHz, ensuring maximum performance at every FM channel in the band. Performance is within 1dB to 1.5dB, and current consumption is only 2.8mA.
