Anritsu's BTS Master and Spectrum Master Analyzers Cited Product Innovations of the Year by Frost & Sullivan

(Business News & Technology News, 3 Sep 2008)

Anritsu Co.'s BTS Master and Spectrum Master handheld analyzers have been awarded the prestigious 2008 Frost & Sullivan Award for Product Innovation of the Year in the wireless sector. The analyzers earned the award on the basis of being the first mobile WiMAX handheld test solutions in the industry.

Frost & Sullivan states that Anritsu is far ahead of its competitors in terms of sophistication and capability for mobile WiMAX, and that the company focuses heavily on its customers to ensure that its products and services meet their needs and requirements. Anritsu's commitment to working closely with wireless service providers to understand their needs in the deployment phase and foresee their emerging requirements was also cited by Frost & Sullivan.

The Frost & Sullivan Award for Product Innovation is presented each year to the company that has demonstrated excellence in new products and technologies within its industry. By earning the award, Anritsu has shown innovation by launching a broad line of emerging products and technologies.

To choose a recipient, Frost & Sullivan's analyst team tracks all new product launches, R&D spending, products in development, and new product features and modifications. All new product launches and new products in development in each company are compared and evaluated based on degree of innovation and customer satisfaction. Companies are then ranked by the number of new product launches and new products in development.

In addition to the methodology described above, there are specific criteria used to determine final competitor rankings. Anritsu excelled in one or more of the following criteria:

- Significance of new product(s) in its industry
- Competitive advantage of new product(s) in its industry
- Product innovation in terms of unique or revolutionary technology
- Product acceptance in the marketplace
- New product value-added services provided to customers
- Number of competitors with similar product(s)

The mobile WiMAX test capability provides field engineers, technicians and contractors with an easy and highly accurate method for conducting RF, demodulation, and Over-The-Air (OTA) measurements on WiMAX signals. It can be used with the MT8222A BTS Master, and the Spectrum Master MS2721B, MS2723B, and MS2724B analyzers.
