Global Wireless Infrastructure Revenues Grew 14.5% to $13.8B in 2Q08
(Business News & Technology News, 29 Aug 2008)
The global wireless BTS infrastructure market revenues for the top OEMs grew by 14.5 percent for the second quarter of 2008 to $13.8 billion compared with the same period last year, according to the latest report from EJL Wireless Research titled "Global Wireless OEM Financial Results Q2 2008".
"The market experienced a growth quarter on a sequential basis of 9.9 percent but this was lower than Q2 2007 sequential growth of 17.6 percent," says Earl Lum, founder and President of EJL Wireless. "With three out of the six OEMs posting year-over-year revenue growth in the first half of 2008 in local currencies, we continue to believe that overall revenue growth for the industry may be more in the mid-single digit range of 5-7 percent than flattish."
As Huawei Technologies is the only company not represented in this financial analysis, EJL Wireless believe that the results offer a realistic snapshot for the industry on how the overall market is progressing for 2008. The report provides a unique perspective on the global wireless infrastructure revenues for major wireless OEMs including Alcatel-Lucent, Ericsson, Motorola, Nokia Siemens Networks, Nortel Networks, and ZTE.
