Wayfinder Extends Navigable Map Coverage with NAVTEQ

(Business News & Technology News, 28 Aug 2008)

NAVTEQ has been chosen by Wayfinder to supply maps of Australia and New Zealand for its mobile applications. Previously Wayfinder has used NAVTEQ maps in Russia, Singapore, Australia, Middle East and South Africa for Nokia N810 Internet Tablet, which has a map application pre-installed by Wayfinder.

Based in Sweden, Wayfinder has developed into one of the leading providers of innovative GPS location and navigation services for connected mobile devices, with offices across Europe and over two million users stretching from North America to India. For its expansion into Australia and New Zealand, the company chose NAVTEQ map data due to its excellent quality and coverage.

NAVTEQ completed its full coverage of Australia in the summer of 2006; and since then has expanded its local coverage to New Zealand using the largest team of navigation geographic analysts in the region.
