Microsemi Reaches 75 Millionth WLAN Unit Shipment

Microsemi Corp.'s cumulative shipments of Wireless LAN (WLAN) RF power amplifiers (RFPAs) has reached the 75 millionth unit mark. "Microsemi's continued investment in its RF power amplifier business has yielded excellent dividends," says Steven Litchfield, Microsemi Executive Vice President and President of the Analog Mixed Signal Group. "Our customers recognize that Microsemi's products provide superior performance and best in class power efficiency, and with these attributes, our customers are able to design systems that have extended range and reduced power consumption. Microsemi's WLAN RFPAs have found widespread acceptance in a wide variety of end applications ranging from mobile phone handsets to Wireless LAN access points and WiMAX systems."

Microsemi's portfolio of WLAN RFPAs enables its customers to design high performance solutions that provide extended range and superior reception for various WLAN standards such as 802.11a/b/g and 802.11n. Its product offering also addresses the rapidly growing WiMAX market. Designed using leading edge semiconductor processes, Microsemi's WLAN RFPAs are available in a variety of packages and formats ranging from surface mount devices to Sub-systems in a package (SSIP) and Front End Modules (FEMs).
