Driver Amplifiers Designed for 18GHz to 33GHz Frequencies

(Product News, 13 Aug 2008)

Avago Technologies has launched AMMC/P-6333, a highly efficient, linear power amplifier targeted at the 18GHz to 33GHz frequency ranges. The AMMC/P-6333 is a high performance driver amplifier with very high gain and power coupled with improved input and output return losses. These new devices are built to allow design engineers to meet driver amplifier needs for broadband frequencies while eliminating the need for negative voltage requirements for better RF performance.

Available in "bare die" or surface mount packaging, the AMMC/P-6333 is suitable for wireless communication infrastructure applications, including point-to-point radios, VSAT and fiber to the home.

The AMMC/P-6333 millimeter wave MMIC is fabricated using Avago's 0.25µm enhancement mode PHEMT technology. The new MMIC provides high dynamic range support with excellent out power, superior gain and high linearity, broad frequency band support and low current consumption. The amplifier delivers a high gain of 20dB and a high P1dB of 23dBm, has 50¦¸ matching, and third order intercept point of 30dBm. It is rated at 5V, 220mA.
