Vishay Launches Industry-first Solid Tantalum Chip Capacitor

(Product News, 11 Aug 2008)

Vishay Intertechnology Inc. has extended its TANTAMOUNT Hi-Rel COTS T97 series to offer the industry's first solid tantalum chip capacitor that has a 63V rating and is designed for derating requirements in +28V power supply designs.

The new T97 solid tantalum chip capacitor, available in F case size, has a capacitance of 22µF and features a dual anode construction to ensure low ESR. The T97 series is designed for safety-critical applications such as those found in the military and aerospace industries, including DC/DC converters and power distribution in weapons and radar systems, avionics, and space-based electronics. The devices offer designers a wide array of ratings not found in available MIL specifications.

These conformal-coated capacitors with wrap-around terminations offer high-reliability screening options including Weibull grading, and surge current testing options in accordance with MIL-PRF-55365 in five case sizes.
