Jungo Teams with Ralink Technology to Enable Wi-Fi Connectivity in USB Devices

(Business News & Technology News, 24 Jul 2008)

Jungo Ltd has teamed with Ralink Technology Corp. to develop a low-footprint USB based Wi-Fi solution, which will enable equipment manufacturers to integrate Wi-Fi capabilities into non-native Wi-Fi platform designs using the USB interface. Jungo is a provider of USB software protocol stacks and tools for driver development and testing. The cooperation combines Jungo's proven embedded USB software with Ralink's extensive knowledge of wireless chipset design.

Jungo's embedded stacks combined with Ralink's Wi-Fi chipsets enable OEMs and manufacturers of home entertainment equipment, automotive infotainment products and other embedded devices to add dynamic Wi-Fi capabilities to their designs without increasing their cost.

The Wi-Fi USB solution from Jungo and Ralink includes support for seamless integration of TCP/IP protocols via USB, universal security algorithms such as WPA, WEP and WEP2 and full support for all IEEE 802.11 Wi-Fi standards.
