Huawei Unveils WiMAX Distributed BTS in Europe

Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd has released its most-advanced WiMAX distributed BTS at the recent WiMAX Forum Global Congress 2008, held in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

Zhao Ming, Vice President of Huawei Wireless Product line, delivered a keynote speech at the forum "Broadband and convergence: paving the way for the future mobile internet". He expressed that guided by the four development concepts of "Convergence, Broadband, Green, and Evolution", Huawei has established and maintained its leading position in the wireless broadband industry through considerable investment.

At the forum, Huawei unveiled its most advanced WiMAX distributed BTS which is able to help operators build better future-oriented mobile WiMAX networks. The fourth generation BTS will help operators reduce resources like equipment room and energy, which are the key to green communications.

Being a principal member of the WiMAX Forum, Huawei is actively engaged in promoting the development of the WiMAX ecosystem and regularly contributes to WiMAX industry standards. Based on an open policy, Huawei is dedicated to promoting wide cooperation within the industry chain and has already established two open WiMAX IOT Centers in Shenzhen and Hong Kong to provide IOT test services for chipset makers, terminal manufactures, equipment vendors and other partners worldwide.
