Nokia Siemens Networks Honor Suppliers at Inaugural Innovation Awards Day

Nokia Siemens Networks has recognized its APAC suppliers for their outstanding contribution to service and product innovation at the inaugural Nokia Siemens Networks Supplier Innovation Awards Day 2008. The Supplier Innovation Awards highlight the valuable roles that suppliers play to help Nokia Siemens Networks improve network efficiency and cost savings throughout the APAC region, resulting in CAPEX and OPEX advantages for Nokia Siemens Networks' own customers. The winners were judged on their contribution to innovation, product and service quality, cost reduction, and process improvement.

Basil Byrne, Head of Services Sourcing, APAC, Nokia Siemens Networks, said: "Supplier innovation is an important part of supply chain management. We have taken the first steps in recognizing suppliers who helped us achieve stringent and demanding objectives in an ever-changing market. Innovation is a core Nokia Siemens Networks value, and underpins our focus on the customer."

Outstanding Performance Award - Products: Delta Electronics Inc.

Outstanding Performance Award - Services: NR Switch-N-Radio Services Pvt Ltd

Outstanding Contributor to Corporate Responsibility - Services: GTL Ltd and ADA Cellworks Wireless Engineering Pvt Ltd

Outstanding Contributor to Corporate Responsibility - Products: PT. Duta Hita Jaya

Outstanding Contributor to Service Innovation: PT. Masindo Utama Nusantara

Outstanding Contributor to Product Innovation: Ramboll Group A/S

Outstanding Contributor to Service Quality: Nippon Electronic Systems Co. Ltd

Outstanding Contributor to Product Quality: CommScope Inc.

CommScope won for introducing aluminum feeder cables to tower management, and in improving installation tools to meet domestic tower site conditions in APAC. "We are honored to receive this award. We are pleased that Andrew products are playing a key role in the innovation and quality of the solutions that Nokia Siemens Networks delivers to wireless operators in Asia Pacific, with a keen focus on customer satisfaction. We aim to continue a truly world-class collaborative relationship with them," says Ben Cardwell, Vice-President, Sales and Marketing, Asia-Pacific, Andrew Wireless Solutions (a CommScope Company).

Another winner, Delta Electronics, picked up an award for their proactive support to Nokia Siemens Networks' energy requirements in APAC, by constantly engaging and proposing improvements in energy efficiency in base station and site operation.

"Innovation is at the heart of our business. We make it very easy for anyone to submit ideas, and consider each one swiftly, fairly and competently. We have measures to protect the rights of Nokia Siemens Networks and the innovator.
