Lite-On Group and Subsidiaries Launch LITEONMOBILE

(Business News & Technology News, 16 Jun 2008)

Taiwanese Lite-On Group and its subsidiaries, mobile handset design and manufacturing partner Perlos, and key mat and metal housing supplier Silitech have launched a new service brand LITEONMOBILE to cover the group's integrated offering for mobile handset vendors. The combination targets to be among the top three suppliers to mobile handset vendors.

"Perlos has a broad portfolio of services and technologies to the mobile handset markets and when complemented with Lite-On's electronics and Silitech's commodities, we already now compete head to head with the biggest operators in the industry. In addition we have a strong vision on future technologies and willingness to invest," says Cor Saris, Perlos' CEO. "LITEONMOBILE's expertise lies in providing solutions that create differentiating and distinctive user experiences. Handsets must feel, sound and look good."

To support the integrated strategy, Perlos also considers relocating the corporation's headquarters from Finland to Beijing. The co-operation with Lite-On and Silitech is very intensive and new investments and development projects need daily attention from the top management.

"Beijing would make a great location for the headquarters with good connections, existing manufacturing capabilities and strong presence of our biggest customers. To support the European projects and customers, we plan to maintain strong presence in Finland also in the future," says Saris.
