NEC Asia Appoints New CEO

NEC Asia, a wholly owned subsidiary of NEC Corp., has appointed IT veteran Kiyofumi Kusaka as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Kusaka was in charge of IT system development and systems integration at the International Business Coordination Division of NEC in Japan from 1980 to 2000. He also served as the President for NEC Thailand Ltd and NEC Corp. (Thailand) Ltd from 2001 to 2006.

Prior to joining NEC Asia, Kusaka was the General Manager with the International Solutions Promotion Division at NEC in Japan.

Kusaka replaces Tomohiro Yagi, who has been leading NEC Asia since April 2004. Yagi will be returning to Japan to assume the position of Vice-president, Enterprise Solutions Business Unit at NEC.
