Alcatel-Lucent to Showcase Comprehensive WiMAX Wireless Broadband Offerings at the 2008 WiMAX Expo and WiMAX Forum Operator Summit in Taipei

Alcatel-Lucent will be showcasing its comprehensive WiMAX wireless broadband offerings at the 2008 WiMAX Expo, Taipei & WiMAX Forum Operator Summit. Alcatel-Lucent will highlight its turnkey WiMAX radio access networks, applications and services offerings and Open Customer Premises Equipment (CPE) Program. The event will take place from 2-6 June 2008 at the Taipei World Trade Center, in Taiwan.
Alcatel-Lucent will offer a number of demonstrations of its leading-edge solutions including:
- Advanced WiMAX Technology Alcatel-Lucent's WiMAX base stations are the most technically advanced in the market, integrating the latest technical advancements such as beam forming and multiple input/multiple output (MIMO) that can help operators increase coverage and capacity on their networks, and help ensure a superior wireless broadband experience for their subscribers, cost-effectively.
- Open CPE Strategy A variety of WiMAX end-user terminals will be on display from five leading Taiwanese companies that participate in Alcatel-Lucent's Open CPE Program: ZyXel, Quanta, Accton, Gemtek and ASUSTek. Products being exhibited include indoor and outdoor CPE, PCMCIA/Express cards, USB dongles and WiMAX notebooks.
- WiMAX Application Services Alcatel-Lucent will showcase a number of innovative new services delivered over a WiMAX network including converged communication, IMS (IP multimedia subsystem)-based offerings, mobile office communications, high-quality video content and more.
Alcatel-Lucent also is participating in the WiMAX Forum Operator Summit on June 2 and 3, in which many of the company's WiMAX customers are participating, including Worldmax of the Netherlands, Packet One Group of Malaysia, WiMAX Telecom from Europe, Unwired from Australia, etc. These operators have been invited by the organizers to join the summit to share their WiMAX vision and strategy, to discuss innovative business models and specific applications and services being deployed and offered commercially. Furthermore, Christophe Lerouge, Vice President of Alcatel-Lucent's WiMAX activities, will be participating at a panel discussion on the topic "Prospecting WiMAX Ecosystem".
