Vishay's Enhanced Rectifiers Designed for Telecom System Power Supplies

(Product News, 29 May 2008)

Vishay Intertechnology Inc. has launched a new series of enhanced high-current-density PowerBridge rectifiers with current ratings of 10A to 25A and maximum peak reverse voltage ratings of 600V to 1kV. Featuring advanced thermal construction, the PowerBridge devices allow heat to dissipate more efficiently, thus enabling the device to provide the same power ratings as larger packages while requiring smaller heat sinks.

The single-phase rectifiers are an optimal bridge package choice for AC-to-DC rectification in switchmode power supplies for desktop PCs, servers, PDP and LCD TVs, and audio/video systems; and primary rectification circuits for switchmode power supplies in telecommunication systems.

The new devices offer compatible package, lead pitch, and pin layouts to conventional GBU packages. This saves time by allowing the same PCB layout to be used for a wide range of bridge rectifier voltage and current ratings.
