Tranzeo's WiMAX Pico Base Station Uses Proximetry's AirSync Software

(Product News, 21 May 2008)

Tranzeo Wireless Technologies Inc.'s new low cost, turn-key 5.8GHz WiMAX pico base station solution is using Proximetry's intelligent provisioning and management software, AirSync. The 5.8GHz solution for the unlicensed frequency band expands Tranzeo's existing 3.5GHz licensed band product line offering wireless internet service providers (WISPs) and emerging carriers a price/performance breakthrough for WiMAX with enhanced base station performance management.

The TR-WMX-5.8-pBS, designed for broadband service providers seeking to cost effectively accommodate the unique requirements of rural and enterprise customers, is outdoor-rated and can survive exposure to the elements without requiring a protective enclosure.

Leveraging the company's partnership with Proximetry, the Tranzeo WiMAX product family is AirSync-enabled, making each base station and subscriber unit to be centrally managed and provisioned. Proximetry also offers an expanded network management product that enables the Tranzeo system to be autonomously provisioned and service levels managed according to network policies and the real-time use and behavior of the network.
