Common Criteria Evaluation Underway for AirMagnet Enterprise 8.0
(Product News, 14 May 2008)
AirMagnet Inc.'s AirMagnet Enterprise 8.0 is in the process of Common Criteria evaluation at Evaluation Assurance Level 2 and has been officially placed on the "Products Under Evaluation" list at sertit.no/product/11/. This current evaluation further demonstrates AirMagnet's commitment and leadership in the field of independent security certification, and offers government customers worldwide the added assurances many need before implementing a WLAN security and performance management solution.
Common Criteria is an internationally recognized security evaluation standard that is based on a framework that allows computer system users to specify security requirements. Vendors can then implement and/or make claims about the security attributes of their products, and testing laboratories can evaluate the products to determine if they actually meet the stated claims.
AirMagnet Enterprise provides a simple, scalable WLAN monitoring solution that enables any organization to proactively mitigate all types of wireless threats, enforce enterprise policies, prevent performance problems and audit the regulatory compliance of all Wi-Fi assets and users worldwide. The product offers complete visibility and control over the wireless airspace, enabling any enterprise to reliably deliver the same standards of security performance and compliance for a wireless network that is expected from wired networks. Furthermore, AirMagnet Enterprise detects and defends against the latest classes of WLAN exploits, delivers the industry's only forensic analysis for spectrum/RF threats and introduces a complete threat intelligence system to classify and prioritize all wireless events for simple management.
