NewStep Networks Inc. and D2 Technologies are combining forces to deliver a joint solution that includes Google Android-based mobile terminals, running D2's mCUE embedded mobile unified communications software interoperating with NewStep's patented converged services node for FMC/UC infrastructure.
"Partnering with companies like D2 showcases our commitment to enabling session management capabilities as part of a broader, richer set of applications that further enhance the mobile user experience," says Shannon Bell, Vice President of Marketing at NewStep. "The combination of NewStep's CSN, D2's mCUE and an open-source platform, like Google Android, enables service providers to bring new products and services to market faster, and more cost-effectively."
The companies have successfully tested D2's mCUE embedded software with NewStep's VCC-compliant converged services node (CSN). D2's mCUE pairs a communications user interface with the company¡¯s vPort MP VoIP software platform, providing enterprise users with mobile access to full directory services, extension calling and corporate IM.
"D2's partnership with NewStep delivers a revolutionary, turnkey mobile unified communications platform for multi-mode devices that offer all of the media rich features and functionality consumers, service providers and enterprise users are looking for," says Doug Makishima, Vice President of Marketing and Sales for D2. "It's an ideal platform to enable advanced mobile UC on smartphones and other mobile devices."
