Nordic Semiconductor Appoints New Country Manager for Japan
(Business News & Technology News, 3 Apr 2008)
Nordic Semiconductor ASA has appointed Mitsuo Yamazaki as Country Manager - Japan. He will be based in Nordic's Tokyo sales and support office and will report to the company's Asia Pacific HQ in Hong Kong.
Yamazaki brings a wealth of engineering experience to the role. As an engineer, he was involved in the development of GPS systems, GSM/CDMA front-end devices and Ultra Wideband technology among others. More recently, Yamazaki was the Japan/Korea Sales Director for Ultra Wideband company, WiQuest Communications.
Yamazaki joins Nordic Semiconductor just as the company is establishing a reputation as a supplier of Ultra Low Power (ULP) 2.4GHz transceivers at a very competitive price/performance point. Nordic defines ULP as being capable of being driven by a 3V coin cell battery such as a CR2032, with a peak current of less than 22mA and an average current in the microamp range, yielding battery life of months or even years.
In his new role, Yamazaki is tasked with ensuring Japanese customers appreciate the significant advantages of the company's products, including ultra-low power consumption, competitive pricing and full support in the form of development tools, communication software (i.e. wireless protocols) and reference designs.
