TCS smsExpress Platform Expands Wireless Carriers' Enterprise-to-phone Business Opportunity
(Product News, 1 Apr 2008)
TeleCommunication Systems Inc. (TCS) has released the TCS smsExpress Mobile Value-added-service Platform (MVP) for wireless carriers looking to create or expand their Enterprise-to-Phone (E2P) business. This platform provides a service delivery vehicle for mass distribution and guaranteed delivery of enterprise-generated content targeted for employees or enterprise consumers. Unlike traditional revenue sharing with content aggregators, smsExpress MVP allows wireless carriers to directly generate enterprise premium messaging service revenues.
TCS' smsExpress MVP integrates enterprise content generated via email, web pages or transmitted from machine-to-machine (M2M) systems. The platform supports rich messaging content and enables enterprises to communicate critical information with their workforce and can be implemented as a pager replacement service. With a direct connection to the wireless carrier data network, enterprises can now send text pages directly to mobile subscriber handsets using the same interfaces they have employed with paging networks, eliminating the need for employees to carry pagers in addition to their cell phones.
The smsExpress MVP service delivery platform includes an enterprise-facing Web portal that allows enterprise personnel to create simple text messages such as campus alerts, product use information or rich multimedia content containing mobile coupons and map images. Utilizing the TCS authentication engine, smsExpress MVP validates enterprise message senders and provides a secure, trusted method for mass delivery of high-capacity messaging. Also, the MVP platform allows carriers to maintain control of message volumes and revenues and prioritize what, when and how much goes out across their networks.
TCS will demonstrate the uses and benefits of smsExpress MVP at the CTIA WIRELESS 2008 Conference taking place at the Las Vegas Convention Center, April 1 to 3.
