Airspan to Expand Tricom's WiMAX Network in the Dominican Republic

Airspan Networks Inc. has been awarded a network expansion contract by Tricom, one of the leading carriers in the Dominican Republic, wherein Airspan Networks will to continue to supply its WiMAX solutions in the licensed 3.5GHz frequency band. This latest award would bring the value of Airspan contribution to Tricom's network to approximately $1.7 million.

Airspan began supplying Tricom with its WiMAX solutions in the fourth quarter of 2007, using its HiperMAX-2 and Hiper-Micro base stations. Tricom is a full service provider and one of the largest data providers in the Dominican Republic, offering a wide range of fixed, mobile and paid TV services throughout the country. Tricom's WiMAX network will be the largest WiMAX and one of the most innovative in the region supporting a full range of high-end broadband data offerings and next generation applications.
