Compact High-power RF Module Designed for ZigBee

( 1 Mar 2008 )

Radiocrafts AS has launched RC 2201HP—a high-power RF module design for ZigBee operating at 2.45GHz. The RC2201HP delivers up to 18dBm output power, and gives an increased communication range of up to 10 times compared to standard low output power modules. The device is compliant with IEE 802.15.4 and is designed for ZigBee Full Function Device (FFD) and Reduced Function Device (RFD) operation, or other protocol stacks using star or mesh topologies.

Measuring 16.5x35.6x3.5mm, the shielded module is optionally available with integrated antenna, 128kB flash memory, 8kB RAM, 32 digital and analogue I/Os, eight-channel 10 bit ADC, UART and SPI interfaces. The module integrates a multi-channel RF transceiver with 16 channels, up to 18dBm output power and a receiver sensitivity of -94dBm at 250kbps. The module is based on DS technology and offer exceptional range and performance even in crowded and noisy environments compared to other 2.45GHz technologies.
