ANADIGICS Expands WiMAX Portfolio with New RF Power Amplifier for 2.3Ghz to 2.4Ghz Frequency Band
(Product News, 29 Feb 2008)
ANADIGICS Inc. recently released its AWM6422 power amplifier, which operates in the 2.3GHz to 2.4GHz frequency band allocated for broadband mobile wireless services. ANADIGICS' new AWM6422 is already being integrated into USB Adaptors manufactured for a major Korean telecom company.
A variation of ANADIGICS' widely accepted AWM6423, the new AWM6422 power amplifier is a high performance device with exceptional linearity and efficiency at high levels of output power. Designed for WiMAX and WiBro applications in the 2.3GHz to 2.4GHz band, the AWM6422 supports the IEEE 802.16e-2005 wireless standard as well as the IEEE 802.16d-2004 and the ETSI EN301-021 standards. The AWM6422 requires a nominal +3.3V supply, but also provides enhanced RF performance when used with supply voltages as high as +4.2V.
Other specifications include: RF gain, >30dB; EVM, 2.5 percent at +22dBm (+3.3V), 4 percent at +23.5dBm (+3.3V), 2.5 percent at +23.5dBm (+4.2V), or 4 percent at +25dBm (+4.2V); and size, 4.5x4.5x1.4mm. The power amplifier has an integrated 25dB attenuator and output power detector.
