Agilent Technologies and Beceem Collaborate on Mobile WiMAX Protocol Test Solution
(Top News, 29 Feb 2008)
Agilent Technologies Inc. and Beceem Communications will extend their WiMAX collaboration to include Mobile WiMAX Wave 2 Protocol Test. Agilent and Beceem will ensure that customers can confidently use Agilent protocol test systems with Beceem's Mobile WiMAX reference designs, and will verify that their designs are accurate implementations of Mobile WiMAX standards, thereby enabling their customers to bring reliable solutions to the market fast.
Protocol Conformance Test (PCT) is a vital part of the WiMAX Forum certification process. The availability of rigorous and efficient protocol test solutions is a must for ensuring that the latest WiMAX technologies are delivered with a high degree of device interoperability. This level of assurance helps to create customer confidence and drive market growth.
Beceem is one of the leading suppliers of terminal chipsets for the IEEE 802.16e-2005 standard. Beceem's current BCS200 chipset is being used by Mobile WiMAX equipment makers and is being used in the trials and deployments of leading Mobile WiMAX operators.
Agilent's N6430A PCT solution delivers a comprehensive suite of test solutions for 802.16-2004/Cor2 D3 Mobile WiMAX PCT and development testing with a scripting interface to a fully functional radio bearer. The Agilent E6651A portfolio of solutions supports many R&D testing needs in addition to PCT, including base-station emulation, RF parametric measurements and Radiated Performance Testing.
