SiGe and WPG to Showcase Solutions Targeted at Wireless Capabilities Convergence in Mobile Devices

(Business News & Technology News, 28 Feb 2008)

SiGe Semiconductor, which provides the industry's most comprehensive portfolio, that includes patented technology that enables wireless data and navigation capability in laptop PCs, PDAs, handheld game machines, cell phones and personal video players, will be working with WPG Holdings to showcase its multimedia enabling expertise at IIC 2008.

SiGe also delivers products compliant to the Wi-Fi, WiMAX, Bluetooth and GPS standards to some of the leading names in consumer electronics. The company addresses the technical challenges associated with this approach, including how to support WiMAX, Wi-Fi and GPS in portable devices while still meeting expectations for battery life, performance and price. In addition, providing all of the RF circuitry in a single, fully tested module simplifies design, reduces bill of materials for lower cost and board area, and speeds time-to-market.
