Texas Instruments' Latest Audio Line Drivers Rated at 3.3V

(Product News, 25 Feb 2008)

Texas Instruments Inc. (TI) has released its 2VRMS DirectPath audio line driver targeted at home entertainment applications. Operating at 3.3V, the new devices reduce total system cost and adjust input gain levels to optimize performance in television peripherals such as set-top boxes, HDTV receivers, DVD players, gaming consoles and portable media players.

Available in a 4x4mm package, TI's DRV601 integrates a charge pump to allow a complete audio output signal chain to run from a single 3.3V power supply. In addition, the DRV601 provides designers with the flexibility to vary the input gain, allowing a full 5.6Vpp or 2VRMS output from any audio source.
