Redline Launches 4.9GHz Broadband Wireless Public Safety Applications

(Product News, 21 Feb 2008)

Redline Communications Group Inc. has unveiled its new RedCONNEX and RedACCESS products for the 4.9GHz band, which are designed for use in public safety and military communications networks in the United States as well as in international markets where the spectrum is available for deployment of broadband wireless systems.

Available under Redline's RedCONNEX point-to-point and RedACCESS point-to-multipoint families, the 4.9GHz AN-80i are enabling organizations greater flexibility and cost-effective options for establishing broadband wireless networks. The 4.9GHz products meet the strict government criteria for information assurance, supporting a number of features that ensures secure transmission, management and authentication. The 4.9GHz AN-80i provide long-range connections and are software upgradeable to deliver between 9Mbps and 90Mbps of net throughput, allowing operators the commercial flexibility to pay as they grow.

"While much attention is given to the 2.5GHz and 3.5GHz bands, the 4.9GHz opportunity is an important one," said Peter Jarich, Research Director with Current Analysis. "Ultimately, however, expanding 4.9GHz beyond niche public safety and broadband access applications will require a broad ecosystem of reliable, credible products. Against this backdrop, Redline's new RedCONNEX and RedACCESS products are a welcome addition to the market."
