(Business News & Technology News, 11 Mar 2008)
The WiMAX Forum has designated the Aeroflex/AT4 wireless MINT223x protocol conformance test (PCT) system and AT4 wireless MINT T2110 radio conformance test (RCT) system as official test equipment for WiMAX Certification (802.16-2005). Both systems have been installed and are being actively used for WiMAX equipment certification at the first worldwide WiMAX Forum Designated Certification Laboratory, which has been established on behalf of the WiMAX Forum within AT4 wireless' comprehensive Wireless Certification & Testing Laboratory in Malaga, Spain.
"We are extremely pleased to be able to count on the test capabilities of the AT4 wireless RCT systems and Aeroflex/AT4 wireless PCT systems in the WiMAX Forumdesignated certification laboratory," says Jose de la Plaza, who is responsible for the operation of the WiMAX Forum Designated Certification Laboratory. "In order to quickly manage the WiMAX certification process, we need to draw upon the technical innovation and extensive understanding of WiMAX technology that leading test equipment developers like Aeroflex and AT4 wireless provide."
"The designation of our conformance test systems as official test equipment for WiMAX certification is a testament to our market leadership in WiMAX test," says Paul Argent, Director of infrastructure products, Aeroflex Test Solutions, Wireless Division. "The early availability of quality WiMAX test equipment is crucial to the development of the market, both in terms of infrastructure and subscriber equipment—and we are leading its delivery."
The MINT 223X system was developed jointly by Aeroflex and AT4 wireless.
