WJ Communications Launches New Amplifiers for WiMAX Applications

(Product News, 28 Jan 2008)

WJ Communications Inc. has released four products for WiMAX/WiBro applications—the AH314/AH315, high-linearity 2W dual-stage driver amplifiers, and the AP561/AP562, high performance 8W single-stage power amplifiers.

Suitable for use in WiMAX/WiBro applications at the commonly targeted sub-bands within the 2.3GHz to 2.9GHz and 3.3GHz to 3.8GHz frequency ranges, the amplifiers are based on the InGaP/GaAs HBT process technology, and incorporate proprietary bias circuitry to compensate for variations in linearity and current draw over temperature. An internal active bias allows the AH314/AH315 to operate at single +5V, while the internal active bias for AP561/AP562 allows them to operate at +12V with an added feature of a +5V power down control pin.
