L-band Oscillator Features Improved Phase Noise Performance for WiMAX and Mobile Communications Apps

(Product News, 28 Jan 2008)

Suited to applications that require ultra low phase noise performance and linear tuning, Z-Communications Inc.'s latest oscillator, the CLV1596A-LF, operates in the L-band (1.5GHz to 1.685GHz) frequency range and features an ultra low phase noise performance of -100dBc/Hz at 10kHz offset. The device covers the bandwidth between 0.5V to 4.5V only and offers typical tuning sensitivity of 42MHz/V.

This VCO is designed to operate at 5V DC while drawing 20mA (typ.) over the -20°C to 70°C operating temperature range. The device is lead-free and RoHS-compliant. It is ideal for automated surface mount assembly and reflow, and is available in tape and reel packaging for production requirements.
