LitePoint Introduces LabVIEW Instrument Driver for Automated Device Testing
(Product News, 18 Nov 2008)
LitePoint Corp. announces the availability of LitePoint LabVIEW Instrument Driver for automating Wi-Fi a/b/g, WiMAX , Bluetooth, MIMO or Zigbee application testing. The driver, within the LabVIEW 8.5 environment, provides full connectivity and integration capabilities for LitePoint test equipment (e.g. IQview, IQflex, IQmax).
"Users now have the flexibility to integrate test systems with multiple equipment types. They can automate test capabilities for design-level tests, build device-testing applications, and control the device- under-test (DUT)," says Ray Wang, Director of Applications Engineering at LitePoint. Using the LabVIEW Instrument Driver, users can collect large amounts of data common to various technologies and customize it according to their needs. They can perform key RF and modulation quality measurements, such as error vector magnitude (EVM), power spectral density (PSD), cumulative complimentary density function (CCDF) and channel power.
LabVIEW, a graphical development environment for programming languages, is used for data acquisition, instrument control and industrial automation on a variety of platforms. LabVIEW programs/subroutines are called VIs (virtual instruments). For users who do not currently use LabVIEW 8.5, LitePoint provides LabVIEW executables that allow them to explore the capabilities of the LabVIEW driver. Users can use a collection of pre-tested sample VIs to perform analysis using LitePoint's Wi-Fi a/b/g, WiMAX, Bluetooth, MIMO, or Zigbee test systems.
