UWB Antennas have Filter-Assist Functionality

( 1 Jan 2008 )

mron Electronic Components LLC's WXA-N2SL surface-mounted polymeric antennas are designed to transmit and receive high-speed wireless signals in the next-generation consumer electronic products market. The antennas are designed for optimum operation in the WiMedia Alliance BandGroup 1 (3.1GHz to 4.9GHz) frequency band.

The antennas' filter-assist function allows them to suppress out-of-band noise by 50 percent or more, enabling high-quality communications between these wireless devices even in noisy signal real world applications. The utilization of Omron's proprietary dielectric polymer molding allows for both high performance and a compact 10x13x1.2mm size.

The device operates with a VSWR of <2.5 (3.1GHz to 4.9GHz), >6 (7GHz to 11GHz). Applications for the WXA-N2SL, Wi-PlaDs (Wireless Polymeric advanced Devices) include wireless USB dongles, hubs, mobile equipment and digital home appliances.
