Design-in Over-current Protection Features Single Miniature Fuse

( 1 Jan 2008 )

Addressing the need for smaller embedded device protection of higher-current applications, Littelfuse has released a new series of fast-acting ROHS-compliant and UL-approved, subminiature surface-mount fuses. Measuring 10.1x3.12x3.12mm, the Nano2 456 Series ceramic fuses are available in 20A and 30A, with interrupt ratings of 100A at 125VAC and 300A at 65VAC, respectively.

In addition to serving as an embedded secondary protection solution for PC servers, the 456 Series is also targeted to protect applications such as power supplies, wireless base stations, large scale storage systems and other higher current electronic systems. The 456 Series enables circuit engineers to design-in reliable primary and secondary over-current protection with a single miniature fuse.

Beyond the benefit of space-saving design, the 456 Series can serve as a more stable and reliable alternative to using similar smaller-amp Nano fuses in tandem.
