Aruba Networks Supplier Selects RMI's XLR Processor for Enterprise Networking Solutions

(Business News & Technology News, 7 Nov 2007)

Aruba Networks Inc. has selected Raza Microelectronics Inc.'s (RMI) XLR Processor for use in enterprise wireless LAN (WLAN) products. RMI's XLR Processor offers software and pin compatibility that lowers both product design and manufacturing costs.

"We believe that RMI's flexible architecture will enable us to add additional capabilities to our products while lowering costs," said Sriram Ramachandran, Vice President of Engineering, Aruba Networks. "Additionally, RMI's excellent technical support allowed us to come up to speed quickly and rapidly address technical challenges associated with advanced platform development."

RMI's multi-core multi-threaded Processors provide a rich set of features and performance that address a wide variety of integrated, next generation applications, including integrated security, Web services, virtualized storage, load balancing, server offload and intelligent routing and switching systems. The XLR 700 and XLR 500 series processors are software and hardware compatible and each processor is available in a variety of power options including standard, low and ultra low power.

"Our products are designed for wire speed, software-driven applications that need to run across multiple platforms, and Aruba's multi-platform controllers were a perfect match," said Lance L. Smith, RMI's Vice President and General Manager of scalable processor solutions. "Aruba was able to leverage the XLR family's extensive set of connectivity options, autonomous acceleration, and cross-platform pin compatibility to build a powerful, cost-effective family of products based on a common processor base. We look forward to furthering our strong relationship with Aruba as we continue to enhance the XLR technology."
