PoE for Wireless Access Points and Computer Workstations

( 1 Nov 2007 )

Phihong USA announces the release of a 60W, 4-port midspan. Designated the Ultra PoE POE480U, this midspan provides total full power of 480 W and requires no power management. The Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) device is suited for remotely powering applications such as high-power radios, wireless access points and computer workstations in business and educational environments.

Other solutions require hard-wiring power to the ceiling where the access points are mounted. The midspan can power applications without additional time, labor and equipment for setup. The Ultra PoE midspan measures 17.5x8.98x1.75in. Data networks are available with 10BASE-T, 100BASE-T, and 1000BASE-T data rates.
