TDK Develops Surface-mount Circulator for WiMAX Basestations

(Product News, 25 Sep 2007)

TDK Corp. has developed a surface-mount circulator designed for WiMAX basestations. Compatible with the frequency bands used for WiMAX (2.5GHz and 3.5GHz) and wideband (200MHz) applications, the new circulator is embedded in a hollowed out resin substrate, increasing the efficiency of mounting processes during surface mounting and reflow soldering.

With the circulator body (in a metal case) in direct contact with the base station mounting substrate, heat generated by the circulator is efficiently dispersed, ensuring high reliability. The device also enables flexible pattern arrangements with respect to the substrate installation location.
