LitePoint Demonstrates WiMAX Wave 2 and WiMedia Testing

(Business News & Technology News, 24 Sep 2007)

Wireless test system solutions provider LitePoint Corp. has demonstrated its testing capabilities for WiMAX Wave 2, WiMedia, and LTE. With a room full of engineers from local Silicon Valley companies on hand at the FAZ Restaurant, LitePoint discussed the challenges in testing WiMAX Wave 2 and WiMedia, then proceeded to show the crowd how it is done. As a surprise, LitePoint's new vice president of engineering, Karsten Vandrup, talked about LTE, an emerging cellular-infrastructure wireless broadband technology with many similarities to WiMAX Wave 2. Early LTE testing capability was also demonstrated.

"There are many challenges associated with testing WiMAX and WiMedia, any one of which could be a show stopper," explained Benny Madsen, LitePoint CEO. "The demonstrations show how we've risen to those challenges. More importantly, it shows the rest of the wireless value chain how they can integrate test in a way that is in line with their time and cost constraints."

Similar seminars and demonstrations are slated for Taiwan (October 2 in Taipei, and October 4 in Hsinchu), and in Seoul, South Korea (October 9).
