Splitter/Filter Modules

( 1 Sep 2007 )

Pulse expands its SmartER series of xDSL, high-density, low-pass splitter/filter modules suitable with high-bit- rate digital subscriber line (VDSL2) applications. Though designed for VDSL2, the modules can also be used in ADSL and ADSL2+ applications. The B8841NL complies with the ETSI (European Telecommunications Standards Institute) 600¦¸ real impedance standard. The B8846NL meets the ETSI option B and BT (British Telecom) SIN-346 complex impedances. Combining two standards in one module allows the B8846NL to replace two SMART modules, the B8048E and the B8546E, with one. The modules separate voice and data in xDSL applications. The B8841NL and B8846NL modules measure 17x13mm, which is one-third the size of standard SMART modules, saving valuable board space. Because they can carry frequencies up to 30MHz, the modules can be used for the latest broadband wireline standard VDSL2 to provide triple play (voice, video, data) services such as high-definition television (HDTV) and interactive gaming.
