China Grentech will Supply Wi-Fi Equipment for China Mobile's Olympic WLAN Network

China GrenTech Corp. Ltd won the bid to supply coverage equipment for China Mobile Ltd's Olympic WLAN network through China Mobile's centralized bidding process, and signed a supply framework agreement with China Mobile Group. As the major Olympic WLAN network equipment supplier, the company will provide customized and newly designed Wi-Fi coverage equipment for the Olympic WLAN network. The equipment will cover different types of protocols including IEEE802.11a, b, and g. In addition to supplying Wi-Fi coverage equipment to China Mobile, GrenTech will also participate in the design and construction of the Olympic WLAN network.

The Olympic WLAN network is a high speed wireless data transmission network constructed by China Mobile for the Olympics; it will provide high speed wireless internet access for end users. The network will cover the Olympic gymnasiums, stadiums and surrounding areas in six Olympic cities, including Beijing, Tianjin, and Shanghai.
