Bluetooth Chip and Reference Design

( 1 Jul 2007 )

CSR announces a Bluetooth chip and reference design that dramatically reduces the cost of Bluetooth headsets. BlueVOX-QFN enables the use of a low-cost, two-layer, single-sided PCB. This means lower overall cost, faster PCB design time and simpler manufacturing than alternative solutions which require PCBs with four or more layers. With a powerful +5.5dBm transmitter and a sensitive -88dBm receiver, the device offers desirable RF performance. The device¡¯s internal battery charger uses an advanced charging algorithm that includes the measured ambient temperature to prevent overcharging.
