Renesas Technology Releases 200A IGBT for Electronic Flash Control in Mobile Phone Cameras and Digital Still Cameras
(Product News, 21 May 2007)
Renesas Technology Corp. has released the RJP4004ANS, an IGBT designed for electronic flash (strobe) control in cameras built into mobile phone and digital still cameras (DSCs). The RJP4004ANS employs a VSON-8 (Very thin Small-Outline No-lead 8-pin package), the smallest in the industry, and is capable of handling large currents up to 200A. Sample shipments will begin in June 2007 in Japan.
The RJP4004ANS offers the following features.
a. Smallest package in the industry and large current capacity of 200 A The VSON-8 package is the smallest in the industry, measuring only 3.0 mm x 4.8 mm x 0.95 (max.) mm. At 2.5 V low-voltage drive it has a rated current of 200 A. The 200 A rated current of the RJP4004ANS is 30% higher than the 150 A rated current of its predecessor, the RJP4002ANS. This makes it possible to realize more compact electronic flash units.
b. Completely lead-free As with its predecessor, the RJP4002ANS, the new RJP4004ANS offers the highest level of reliability and has an environmentally friendly product that contains absolutely no lead, including the internal solder.
