Monaco Evolves Its Radio Communication System with Nationwide Motorola TETRA Network

Motorola Inc. has been selected by Monaco State to deliver a nationwide Terrestrial Trunked Radio (TETRA) communications network. The secure cross-functional communication network will help ensure faster and easier collaboration between Monaco's public safety and emergency services.

Motorola will deploy a full Dimetra IP network, an initial 1500 TETRA terminals, growing to 2000, and command and control stations across the country. Dimetra IP offers a resilient, robust and reliable network for seamless communication. It is an enhanced IP-based TETRA solution that is highly flexible and scalable to integrate voice, messaging and mobile applications on a single network. Motorola will provide implementation and support services for the Dimetra IP network.

Motorola is the main contractor of the project, responsible for the delivery of a complete turnkey solution, including network and coverage planning, site installation and commissioning to enable Monaco State to quickly obtain and exploit the operational benefits of their technology investment. In addition Motorola will provide maintenance and support after completion of the system. Motorola will also be responsible for the programming and installation of TETRA radios including the new MTM800 enhanced mobile radio into Monaco¡¯s public safety and emergency service vehicles.
