UTStarcom to discuss IP CDMA technology on March 22 webinar

(Business News & Technology News, 20 Mar 2007)

UTStarcom Inc., a global leader in IP-based, end-to-end networking solutions and services, today announced that the company will host a webinar on its MovingMedia(R) 2000 all-IP wireless network technology on Thursday, March 22, starting at 10 a.m. Pacific/1 p.m. Eastern.

Based on 3GPP2 standard specifications, UTStarcom's MovingMedia 2000 portfolio is an ideal solution for both incumbent and green-field CDMA operators offering coverage in 450Mhz, 800MHz and 1900MHz frequencies. With an all-IP distributed softswitch architecture, MovingMedia 2000 enables significant backhaul cost savings as well as the ability to offer new value-add services not provided by TDM-based networks.

During the approximately one-hour webinar, Brad McManus, area vice president of CDMA business development for UTStarcom, will provide an overview of the company's MovingMedia 2000 all-IP solution before introducing representatives from SeaMobile and LR Group to discuss specific commercial deployments of the technology. Participating in the webinar will be:
- Jim Ellis, chief technology officer at SeaMobile
- Avishai Marziano, chief technology officer at LR Group and former head of engineering at Movicel

After the presentation, Mr. McManus will be available for questions from webinar participants.

The webinar will begin at 10 a.m. PDT/1 p.m. EDT on Thursday, March 22. You can sign up for the event via this link: http://investorrelations.utstar.com/MediaRegister.cfm?MediaID=24379.
