Wireless Matrix teams with Partner Software for joint solution development

(Business News & Technology News, 19 Mar 2007)

Wireless Matrix Corp. has joined with Partner Software Inc. to develop mobile workforce management solutions based on Partner's Map Integration Toolkit and Wireless Matrix's multi-mode and cellular-only mobile network infrastructure. Wireless Matrix provides a unique multi-mode communication platform combining cellular and satellite networks to provide 100 percent coverage with its Mobile Base Station 2 (MBS2) product. Additionally, Wireless Matrix offers cellular only communication platforms and FleetOutlook, a mobile resource management application for improving fleet productivity and lowering operating expenses. FleetOutlook is a web based application integrated with all Wireless Matrix communication hardware products.

Partner's Map Viewer combines GIS, CAD, customer service, and engineering data sources into a seamless view that is fast, powerful, and easy to use. Designed specifically for utility mapping applications, it includes support for electrical connectivity tracing and switching, data selection, search, and automated updates. It can be used in the office or in the field, on desktop, laptop, and tablet PCs. The Map Integration Toolkit extends the Map Viewer with interfaces to dynamic data applications such as outage management, AMR, vehicle tracking, service orders, and field data collection.

The two companies have begun integration work and will be deploying the solution to a joint customer this summer.

"We are impressed by the power and flexibility of Wireless Matrix's product line. Our products have always focused on the user in the field, and having a network that is always available will greatly enhance mobile applications," said Paul Reavis, President, Partner.

"Extending Partner Software with Wireless Matrix services will drive greater field workforce productivity, and represents a strong value proposition for the utility sector" said Michael Jakab, Vice President of Sales & Marketing, Wireless Matrix. "Our systems integration efforts will streamline implementation and enable users to realize the benefits immediately."
