Octal Supply Supervisor from Linear Monitors Positive & Negative Voltages

(Product News, 19 Sep 2006)

Linear Technology has introduced the LTC2910, a low power voltage monitoring circuit with eight individual undervoltage monitoring inputs. Featuring adjustable inputs with a 0.5V threshold and a tight 1.5% threshold accuracy over the entire temperature range, the LTC2910 simplifies voltage monitoring in the latest generation of multisupply systems. Two external resistors per input determine the desired trip point for the undervoltage monitor, while a three-state select pin programs the polarity combinations for the input thresholds, allowing negative supplies to be monitored. Two complimentary reset outputs signal when any of the supplies are below operating range, while the input glitch filter ensures that there will not be false or noisy triggering.

Supervising a wide variety of voltages with great precision, the LTC2910 is suitable for a broad spectrum of multivoltage, high-density systems such as desktop and notebook computers, networking systems and wireless basestations. The IC is offered in small 16-pin 5mm x 3mm DFN and 16-pin SSOP packages. Specified over the commercial and industrial temperature ranges and available from stock, the LTC2910 is priced at $3.20 each in 1,000-piece quantities.
