A/D Converter

( 1 Jul 2005 )

Atmel introduces a 10-bit A/D converter with a clock frequency of 1.5 Gs/s. The AT84AS003TP breaks the 8.0 ENOB barrier at sampling rates over 1 Gs/s. At 1.5 Gs/s, performance such as 8.0 ENOB, 58 dB SFDR has been demonstrated in Nyquist conditions. The 3 GHz analog input bandwidth allows operation in second Nyquist zone with performance at up to 1.5 GHz input frequency. The embedded, selectable 1:2 or 1:4 demultiplexer allows direct interfacing with standard LVDS compatible FPGAs, without any external circuitry required. Additionally, timing or voltage tuning is not necessary, evenwhen sweeping the sampling frequency from 100 Ms/s to 1.5 Gs/s. Other features include selectable simultaneous or staggered output, gain adjust, sampling delay adjust, and embedded Built-in Self Test (BIST). Atmel Corporation
