Bureau Veritas ADT Worked with MediaTek, Completing the First WiMAX Forum Operator IOT & Conformance Test Case Certification in the World

(Business News & Technology News, 10 Dec 2009)

Bureau Veritas ADT, a WiMAX Forum Designated Certification Lab (WFDCL) for WiMAX Forum Certification Testing, has cooperated with MediaTek, a leading fabless semiconductor company for wireless communications and digital multimedia solutions, and supported MediaTek to acquire its first WiMAX Forum Operator IOT (Operator Interoperability Testing) & Conformance certificate.

MediaTek is the first leading WiMAX chip vendor to pass CRSL version 7.9, which for the first time included Operator IOT (OIOT) test cases, and subsequently received WiMAX Forum Wave2 certification. MediaTek's success at passing the Wave2 certification will accelerate the certification process of MediaTek's customers' products.

MediaTek WiMAX vice president CT Chuang added that Wave2 certification has become a basic requirement for the WiMAX operators worldwide. The completion of MT7119 Wave2 certification demonstrates our commitment to the WiMAX market and we will continue to produce the most cost effective solutions enabling WiMAX CPE, dongles, and mobile devices.

In WiMAX Forum Certification Testing, Bureau Veritas ADT possesses the most complete qualifications. In addition to being a top WFDCL, ADT was also accredited in 2008 for WiMAX Forum Designated Validation Laboratory (WFDVL) and WiMAX Certification Body (WCB). Thus far, Bureau Veritas ADT has completed several NO.1 WiMAX Forum Certification testing projects including 1st Official WiMAX Forum Notebook Certification Testing, 1st RPT Certification Testing, 1st 3.5GHz Certification, and 1stOperator IOT & Conformance Certification for chipset vendors worldwide.

Bureau Veritas ADT Mobile Product Certification Center Vice President Tim Hong said that working with MediaTek has been a real pleasant and productive experience. ''They provided great support to complete all the test cases in record time. We look forward to working with MediaTek and its customers on future certification projects. With the level of support we received and by looking at the maturity of its chips, we believe that products based on MediaTek designs will help enable broad WiMAX Forum certified products."
