Ultra-miniature TVS Device Protects Interface from ESD Damage

(Product News, 18 Nov 2009)

Central Semiconductor Corp. announces the release of the CMNTVS12V 12V Transient Voltage Suppressor packaged in the ultra miniature SOT-953 surface mount case. This new circuit protection device can handle up to 18W of peak power and an ESD voltage of 8kV. Designed to protect static sensitive data interfaces against ESD damage, the low profile CMNTVS12V is ideal for small portable handheld electronic devices such as cell phones, digital cameras, memory card ports, music players, or any device with an active data port. The SOT-953 utilizes 61 percent less board space compared to four individual SOD-923 devices and has a nominal profile of 0.45mm. 5.6V and 6.8V versions may also be requested.
Pricing for the CMNTVS12V starts at US$ 0.12 each for 8,000 pcs on 7” tape and reel. Sample devices are available upon request.
